Meiosis is the form of cell reproduction that forms haploid cells. Meiosis starts with the same sort of process as Mitosis then splits to divide one more time. Meiosis goes through prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase two times. The phases are Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase, Prophase II, Metaphase II, Anaphase II and Telophase II. If you have a cell that starts Meiosis with 20 chromosomes, then the chromosomes split, leaving you with a cell with 10 chromosomes. Finally that cell divides again, leaving you with 4 haploid cells which will each have 5 chromosomes.
